In the third chapter of the book Tuesdays with Morrie entitled The Student, Mitch Albom gives a story of his life after college. After he graduated college he was hoping to stay in touch with his friends but that failed. As he tried to continue his dreams in music he saw his goals being squashed as he got rejected by many producers. he talked about the death of his uncle who was his hero and who was who he wanted to grow up as and his failures at that. He then tried a different approach and started to work as a sports journalist. This was very successful and he got many jobs as sports writers and radio talk shows then eventually found himself on tv. He got a job as a writer in the newspaper for Chicago and moved there where there were many sports fans. He would work all day working on writing sports articles. He then got a wife named Janine, who married him despite of how busy he was. Lastly, he talked about how he sometimes thought about Morrie and what he had taught him. He had thrown away all the mail from his college so he had not heard about Morrie’s illness. But one night when he was flipping through the channels something caught his ear.
